Built by a practice owner Not an agency, and not a marketing company
Built by a practice owner, not an agency.
Practice Radar is built and run by Jack Henty. He spent half a decade in corporate marketing, then went into dentistry: he co-owns Bollington Dental Practice in Cheshire with his fiancée, who practises there. Three surgeries, NHS and private, seeing patients since 1977. Practice Radar is the software we built to fix our own practice's place in Google, then opened up to other practices.
- Both sides of the table. Years in corporate marketing, then running a practice. We know what an agency report leaves out, and what a principal and a practice manager actually need: patients, treatments, the phone, NHS and private. Not impressions and bounce rates.
- Used on our own practice first. Every feature runs on Bollington Dental Practice before it reaches yours, and the dashboard you log into is the one we use.
- Our numbers, not a case study. Ninth to first of its town’s practices on UK-wide search value, and 6 to 194 page-one keywords, are our own practice's results, from the tool's own read of the market.

The numbers that made this a product.
We built the tooling for one practice: our own. These are its measured results, not projections. We then pointed the same measurement at the whole country: the median UK town has five dental practices competing for it.
Bollington Dental Practice, Cheshire: our own practice and the first market Practice Radar ever mapped. The dashboard that produced these numbers is the one you get. The demo opens it on a sample town, with one click and no login.

It reads, it proposes, it does.
It reads your town
Every practice within driving distance of yours, sized by share of search value, on a map that builds itself, usually the same day you confirm. Rankings re-check every week, and reviews, listings and the map itself every month.
It proposes the changes
Three actions a month with the evidence behind each, and a queue of exact changes: the title a page should carry, the local page that does not exist yet, the search term wasting ad budget, the review that needs a reply. Each one explains why, what it aims to do and how you will know.
You approve, it applies
Approve a change and it is done: written to your website through the connector or your builder's API, added to your Google Ads campaign, posted to your Google listing, and your practice listed on 30 UK directories and kept the same on Google, Facebook, Bing and Apple Maps. On a live page it reads the page again to check the change landed and left the page no worse, puts the change back by itself if the page reads worse, and keeps the position of the search it was for. Most changes can also be put back by hand from the same screen. All of it comes with Growth and above.
The honest version of that rhythm. The checks run weekly and the digest lands weekly, but most weeks a local market barely moves. When nothing meaningful has changed, the digest says so in one line rather than manufacturing news to fill itself. The real thinking arrives monthly, as three actions. We would rather you learn to trust a quiet week than learn to ignore us.
Approve a change, and it is on your site.
Most tools stop at telling you what to change. Connect your website and the findings become a queue of exact changes: a title rewritten, a local page drafted, answers added, a broken link fixed, structured data set. Approve one and it is written, and a live page is read again. If it reads worse after the change, the change is put back straight away, and most changes can be put back by hand from the same screen.
- Titles, descriptions, alt text, structured data, new local pages, answers, links, image fixes
- Nothing changes without your approval, and every change to a live page is checked before and after
- WordPress takes every kind of change, through a one-file plugin installed in three steps, no password shared. Webflow and Wix take titles, descriptions and social previews through their own APIs. From Growth.
It makes the changes. It watches everything else.
Four places it makes changes for you, and six sides of a practice's local search it keeps an eye on, each with its own page in the dashboard and its own line in the reports.
Website changes
Titles and descriptions rewritten, and seven kinds of page work: a local page drafted for a search you have no page for, answers and internal links added, a broken link fixed and its dead address redirected, a duplicate heading reworded, an oversized image compressed, structured data set. Each one approved by you and applied through the connector, with a change to a live page checked before and after. From Growth.
See how it works Does itAd negatives
The search terms that took ad budget and booked nobody, proposed as negative keywords. Approve one and it is added to the campaign it fired in through the Google Ads API, read back, and removable from the same screen. From Growth.
See how it works Does itReview replies
Replies drafted in your practice's own voice, posted to your Google listing when you approve them, or on a rule you set for the star ratings you choose. Every reply is yours to read first, and a posted reply can be edited or removed on your Google listing at any time. From Growth.
See how it works Does itManaged listings
Your practice listed on 30 UK and dental directories and sent to Foursquare and GPS Network, the data behind map and sat-nav apps, with wrong details corrected and duplicates removed. Change your hours or phone number once, approve, and Google, Facebook, Bing and Apple Maps follow. From Growth.
See how it worksVisibility
Rankings sized by what each search is actually worth, a street-by-street map of where you rank, with who holds the top three at each point from the 1 November reading, the three practices Google shows on the map, Google's AI answer at the top of the page, the questions your rivals answer and you do not, and the searches they win that nobody thought to track.
See the nineAuthority
The review race and how fast each practice is growing, drafted replies, a front-desk request kit, your Google listing read field by field against theirs, links and directory listings, the local sites that link to your rivals and not to you, and whether AI assistants name you at all.
See the nineMeasured, not estimated
Connect your own Google accounts and the tool stops guessing: the whole chain from being shown on Google to somebody enquiring, and the places your own sources disagree about it.
See the sevenPerformance
The search terms taking ad budget without booking anyone, what is making your site slow on a phone, and your robots file, sitemap and pages read for the faults a speed test cannot see.
See the fourReports
Three actions a month, posts ready for your profile, a weekly digest that admits a quiet week, alerts on the day a second reading confirms a change, and benchmarks so a number has a yardstick.
See the sixWorking with it
Shared read-only links, a portfolio view for groups, an API and webhooks, and every table your plan shows downloadable on every plan.
See the fourEvery item on the features page is written as a one-line promise, in plain English, with an honest note on the ones that need something switched on first.
Dental SEO, in brief.
Dental SEO is the work of getting your practice into Google's free results, the map with three practices and the ordinary results beneath it, when patients search for a dentist near them. The practices in those places get the calls. What dental SEO involves, and how Practice Radar does it.
Work out your break-even.
A new patient is rarely one appointment. It is years of check-ups, a family, and treatment along the way. So the question is simple: how many extra new patients a month does it take to cover the cost?
Why Practice Radar?
Agencies and partners can do good work. But the usual model has you paying a retainer for a report on work you cannot see or check. Practice Radar was built by a practice owner who had been on the receiving end of that model, and it works differently.
| Practice Radar | An agency retainer, from one practice’s real quote | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | From £249 a month. Growth, with the changes applied, £549. | £780 to £1,320 a month including VAT, for 15 to 30 keywords. Plus a £594 setup fee. |
| What you see | Every practice in your town on one map, your position on every search that matters, re-checked weekly. | A monthly report on the 15 to 30 keywords in your plan. |
| Changes | Each one shown to you first. You approve it and it is applied, then a live page is read again. Most website and ad changes go back from the same screen. | Made by the agency, on its timetable. |
| Independence | Measured from public search data, so it shows whether any work, ours or anyone's, is moving your numbers. | The agency reports on its own work. |
| Commitment | Month to month. One email ends it. | A 12-month minimum term. |
| Built by | A practice owner, run on our own practice every week. | A marketing business. |
On that quote, the first year of the smallest plan comes to £9,954 including VAT and setup. A year of Growth is £6,588, month to month, with the changes applied for you.
Happy with your agency? Keep them. They can see the same map and hold the approve button for you, so the conversation is about your town, not a PDF. More on dental SEO services without an agency retainer.
See your own town first.
Tell us where you are and the engine maps it: every practice competing around you, built from your town and your website within a working day of confirming, usually the same day. Connect your website and, after the first monthly read of your site, the changes it would make wait on a queue for your approval. Not a slide deck and not a mock-up.
- Your map builds automatically, usually the same day you confirm
- No card, and no paid plan starts unless you choose one
- We keep your map, so it is there if you come back
- Territory customers hold their area exclusively, one practice per area, with a direct line to us and features built to their request. The signup form checks your postcode first
