Connections

Five connections, each a few minutes, and a call if you want one.

Practice Radar reads public search results without anything connected. Connect your own accounts and the same screens fill in with measured figures, and the changes it proposes can be applied when you approve them. Each connection below says what it needs, what it is allowed to do, what to do if it goes wrong, and further down, what happens once it is made and how to undo it. None of the five is required, and a practice with no Ads account or no Analytics simply skips that one. If you would rather be walked through it, book a call and Jack will do it with you on the phone.

Would rather be shown

Tell us a good time and Jack calls you, shares his screen, and connects each account with you. Twenty minutes, no charge, on the free month or any plan. Nothing is connected until you are on the call and press the buttons yourself.

Google Business Profile 2 minutes

What you need. The Google account that manages the practice's Business Profile. If somebody else set the listing up, it is their account, not yours.

What it is allowed to do. Read your listing and post the review replies you have approved. Nothing on the listing is edited.

  1. Check who owns the listing

Open google.com/business and sign in. If you can see the practice and edit it, that is the right account. If it says you have no locations, the listing belongs to another account and connecting this one will find nothing.

  2. Press Connect with Google

Under Connections in Practice Radar, press Connect with Google beside Google Business Profile. Sign in with the account from step one. If a different account is already signed in, choose Use another account rather than carrying on.

  3. Expect a warning screen

Google shows Google hasn't verified this app while our verification is in progress. Choose Advanced, then the Go to link at the bottom. This is normal and does not mean anything is wrong.

  4. Approve, then pick the location

Approve the access and you land back in Practice Radar. If the account manages more than one practice, choose the right one from the list that appears on the card.

If it goes wrong

It says the account has no locations

You signed in with a personal account rather than the one that manages the listing. Sign out of Google and try again with the managing account.

An agency set up our listing

Ask them to add your account as an owner or manager in Business Profile, then connect. You do not need their password.

Search Console 2 minutes

What you need. A Google account with access to your website in Search Console. This is often whoever built the site.

What it is allowed to do. Read the searches your website already appears for. Read only: nothing is changed.

  1. Check you have access

Open search.google.com/search-console and sign in. If you can see your website listed, you are ready.

  2. Press Connect with Google

Sign in with that same account and approve the read only access. Expect the Google hasn't verified this app screen: choose Advanced, then the Go to link.

  3. Choose the right property

Sites are often listed more than once: yourpractice.co.uk, www.yourpractice.co.uk and a domain property. Pick the domain property if there is one, because it covers every version of the address. Otherwise pick the one that matches what visitors type.

If it goes wrong

It says the account has no verified property

The website is verified under somebody else's account, usually the web developer or an agency. Ask them to add your email as a user in Search Console, which takes them a minute, then connect.

There are three properties and I do not know which

Choose the one beginning with a domain marker if you see it. If not, pick whichever matches the address in your browser when you visit your own site.

Google Analytics 4 2 minutes

What you need. A Google account with access to your Analytics property.

What it is allowed to do. Read your website's visitor numbers and whatever your property counts as an enquiry. Read only: nothing is changed.

  1. Check you have access

Open analytics.google.com and sign in. If you can see your website's data, you are ready.

  2. Press Connect with Google

Sign in and approve. Expect the Google hasn't verified this app screen: choose Advanced, then the Go to link.

  3. Choose the property

If the account holds several, pick the one for this practice's website.

If it goes wrong

Enquiries show as not counted

Analytics has no key event configured, which is common and is not your fault. Until one is set up we can report visits but not enquiries, and we will not pretend otherwise.

I have Universal Analytics, not GA4

Universal Analytics stopped collecting data in 2023 and cannot be read. A new GA4 property has to be created first.

Your website 3 minutes

What you need. An administrator login for WordPress, or the ability to create an API key in Webflow or Wix.

What it is allowed to do. Read your pages and apply the changes you approve: titles, descriptions, social previews and, on WordPress, alt text, structured data, pages, answers, links, fixes, redirects and images. Every change is logged and put back with one click.

  1. WordPress: install the plugin

Under Plugins, upload the one-file Practice Radar Connector zip from the connector page, or paste it into Code Snippets. Yoast, Rank Math or SEOPress must be active.

  2. WordPress: copy the token

Open Settings, then Practice Radar, and copy the site address and token into Website changes under Execution.

  3. Webflow or Wix: make a key

Webflow: Site settings, Apps and integrations, API access, a token with Sites and Pages access. Wix: Settings, API Keys, a key with Manage SEO, plus the site ID from the dashboard address. Paste it into Website changes with the builder selected.

If it goes wrong

Squarespace, GoDaddy or another builder

These give no way to change a page's title from outside their editor, so there is nothing to connect. The Copy audit lists every change with the wording ready to paste.

The connector says the token is wrong

Tokens are shown once on the Settings page. Press Regenerate there and paste the new one; the old one stops working the moment you do.

After you connect, and how to undo it

What happens next. The connected Google feeds are read every morning, so Search Console, Analytics and Ads figures appear within a day of connecting and the Search to enquiry page fills in. Your Google listing's reviews and replies appear on the next daily pass. Rankings, the pack and the brief keep their Monday rhythm whether anything is connected or not. A website connection shows its first proposals as soon as you press Propose from the copy audit.

Disconnecting. Every connection has a Disconnect button on the Connections page, and the website has one under Website changes. Disconnecting stops the feed the same morning; nothing on your accounts changes. You can also remove Practice Radar from a Google account yourself at myaccount.google.com, under Security, then Third-party apps and services, and the feed stops the next time it runs.

What we keep. Figures already read stay on your account so the history on screen does not vanish, and are deleted with the account when you ask us to close it. No password is ever stored: a Google connection holds a revocable token, the website connector holds a token the plugin issued, and the Ads connection can add negatives you approve and nothing else.

Book a connections call

Leave your details and a time that suits, and Jack calls you back to go through the connections together. He replies the same working day to confirm the time, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 UK time. Nothing is connected until you are on the call and press the buttons yourself. If the form does not send, email hello@practiceradar.co.uk with the same details.

Your details go to Jack only, are used to arrange the call, and are not added to any list.

Everything reads without a connection. The connections make it act.

A free month of Growth shows every screen from public data on day one. Connect your accounts when you are ready, or book the call and do it in twenty minutes.
